We first came across The Underline earlier in the year when Lea (whose face you will have seen on our TikTok) told us all about a speed friending event Masi and his team were hosting! I loved the idea and was even more impressed when we heard more about the project.

Not only does The Underline share Clyx’s desire to help Miamians make friends and connect with one another, but they also care deeply about the city we launched in almost 2 years ago! A city and a community we are incredibly fond of!

What Does The Underline Do?

After countless phone calls and emails, I had the pleasure of meeting Masi (manager of community outreach) earlier this year when he came to London. As we had coffee, I really got to understand the magnitude of the project The Underline is taking on.

The project is transforming the land underneath Miami’s Iconic Metrorail line and re-purposing it as a public park and community space. They are almost finished with phase 2 and by the end of the year will have transformed more than 2.5 miles of formerly unused or unsafe land!

Most importantly for us, the project is dedicated to using the land they have transformed to foster a feeling of community throughout the city. Whether it’s speed friending events, free yoga classes, youth soccer programs or guided tours of the project - everything The Underline does is for the good of the community and looks to bring the city and its population together.

We can’t think of a better cause to give to and look forward to working with them as they launch phase 3 of their inspirational project!
